Planted Reinforcement Plate
The Planted Reinforcement Plate backs up a harness bolt or eye-bolt anchor when you mount a belt in a non-factory location. It is a 2" x 3" plate of 1/8" steel with a welded 7/16"-20 nut, and it spreads the load so the anchor can't pull through sheet metal. It's a small part that matters a great deal to any harness install.

| Manufacturer: | PRP |
- Reinforces bolt or eye-bolt harness anchors installed in non-factory locations
- 1/8" steel plate, 2" x 3", black powder coat
- Welded 7/16"-20 nut accepts standard harness eye bolts and bolt-in anchors
- Spreads anchor load to prevent pull-through on sheet metal floors
- Captured nut simplifies installation from above
- Not FIA/SFI certified. Follow your harness manufacturer's anchorage guidance
Disclaimers:
- Seats come in many different shapes and sizes, so not all seats will fit in all vehicles. It is up to the end user to determine if the seat will fit before ordering the seat bracket and other components.
- Many vehicles have the steering wheel offset toward the center of the vehicle. This can be accentuated when installing an aftermarket seat of a different size than the factory seat.
- Replacing a factory seat with an aftermarket seat may cause the vehicle's warning indicators to activate. This can be due to airbag, weight and/or other sensors in the factory seat that are not included in an aftermarket seat. It may be possible to eliminate these indicators with an electronic resistor, but it is up to the end user to determine if a resistor will work and which resistor to use.
- Professional installation is recommended.
A harness is only as strong as the point it's bolted to. The factory seatbelt anchors are engineered for the loads they see. A lap or anti-submarine belt bolted through bare floor pan is not, and in a crash it can tear straight through the sheet metal. Any time you mount a harness to a location the manufacturer didn't engineer, it needs a backing plate. That's what the Planted Reinforcement Plate is for.
The plate is 1/8" steel measuring 2" x 3", with a 7/16"-20 nut welded in place and a black powder coat finish. That thread matches the standard harness eye bolt and bolt-in anchor hardware used across the industry. The plate goes on the underside of the floor, and the anchor bolt threads straight into the captured nut. You don't need a second wrench under the car, and the load is spread across the full plate area instead of a single washer.
It works well for Lemons and endurance builds, track-day cars adding a harness bar or floor anchors, and anywhere else a belt needs a solid anchorage. Follow your harness manufacturer's anchor location and angle guidance, and have the installation checked by a qualified builder.
